Landfill (TSD) Services
- Client: Hazardous Waste Land Disposal Facility, Buttonwillow, California
A principal of Hydro Analysis planned and executed the drilling, soil sampling, geophysical logging, well design and construction, well development, and groundwater sampling of three 100-foot deep piezometers. Evaluated data, constructed boring logs, and prepared report for submittal to regulatory agency. Data collected from the piezometers was used for evaluating the origin of water detected in a previously dry compliance monitoring well at the facility.
- Client: California Superfund Site, Municipal Solid Waste Landfill, Antioch, California
A principal of Hydro Analysis acted as Field Project Supervisor for a Supplemental Remedial Investigation. Planned and executed all aspects of field work including the drilling of three borings as deep as 170 feet using mud rotary and air rotary casing hammer drilling techniques. Managed field personnel in collecting groundwater samples from over 30 monitoring wells. Compiled analytical data, prepared and interpreted hydrogeological cross sections, evaluated the potentiometric surface, and prepared isoconcentration contour maps of chlorinated solvents found in groundwater.
- Client: Albany Landfill, Albany, California
A principal of Hydro Analysis completed human health and risk assessments as part of evaluating closure options for the landfill. Researched appropriate screening criteria and compared to historical leachate, sediment, and surface water data. Performed HELP modeling to evaluate volume of leachate generation. Developed leachate monitoring plan and surface water monitoring plan. Sampled leachate and surface water. Eventually persuaded Regional Board that leachate was not adversely impacting San Francisco Bay, which resulted in rescinding the original Order requiring capping of the landfill.
