Underground Storage Tank Management
- Client: Fahy Construction Company, Northern California
Underground tank removal oversight is provided on a regular basis at a number of sites in northern California. The scope of work typically includes metering & certification of tank inerting, soil & groundwater sample collection as required by local oversight agency, oversight of any over-excavation activities, soil waste profiling, arrangement with various landfills for soil disposal and preparation of a tank removal report.
- Client: Empire Tractor & Equipment Company, Rohnert Park, California
This project involved the installation and quarterly sampling of shallow groundwater monitoring wells following the removal of an underground waste oil tank at the site. Metals contamination in the shallow groundwater was of primary concern. Based upon the effectiveness of the remediation effort (tank and soil removal), as demonstrated by the groundwater sampling data, case closure was issued by Sonoma County, and the RWQCB. The monitoring wells have subsequently been destroyed under permit by Sonoma County Environmental Health.
